A Laysan Albatross was rescued from an ocean going barge that docked at Rainier, OR on February 28, 2014.  The barge had originated in Hawaii and was traveling to the mainland when the Albatross landed on it somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.  On admission, the Laysan was thin and dehydrated with a slight right leg limp.


This Albatross had been banded:

Date banded: 06/20/2006

Banding Location: PUNTA SUR, GUADALUPE ISLAND, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO

Age: WAS TOO YOUNG TO FLY WHEN BANDED IN 2006
